Council of Representatives Meetings

NARP's Spring Council of Representatives meeting will be held Monday-Wednesday, April 22-24, 2013, at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town Hotel.

Our annual Day on the Hill (which any member can participate in free of charge) will take place Tuesday, April 23 in Washington, DC.

Rooms at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town at the NARP rate are sold out as of March 16. You may either click here to reserve a room at the Hilton at the regular rate (or call 1-800-HILTONS), or book at the regular rate at the nearby Hampton Inn on King Street (or call 703-299-9900). Schedule Outline

Monday, April 22: Breakfast at 7:30 AM; convene at 8:30 AM; adjourn at 5:15 PM. Speakers in the PM will include:

• Mark Yachmetz, Chief, Corporate Research and Strategy, Amtrak. Also has many years' experience in key passenger-related positions at Federal Railroad Administration, from which he retired last year.

• Joseph McHugh, Vice-President, Government Affairs and Corporate Communications, Amtrak. Again will give us helpful information in advance of our Day on the Hill.

• Bob Johnston, Passenger Train Correspondent, Trains Magazine
  

 

Tuesday, April 23: Day on Capitol Hill (independently-scheduled meetings until 4:30 PM; some legislators have constituent coffees as early as 7:00 AM).

 

Wednesday, April 24: Breakfast at 7:00 AM; convene at 8:15 AM; adjourn at 2:00 PM (following lunch)

NARP's Fall Council of Representatives meeting will be held Saturday-Sunday, October 19-20, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, 225 E. Coastline Drive, Jacksonville, FL. An optional pre-meeting tour of area rail facilities may take place Friday, October 18. More details to be posted in July.
