Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood gave a congratulatory address over 70 attendees -- including leading passenger train advocates, railroad professionals, Congressional staffers, and others -- at NARP's Capitol Hill Reception in the Longworth House Office Building on April 24. Also celebrated were the winners of the train-riding community's most prestigious awards: the Dr. Gary Burch Memorial Safety Award, two NARP Golden Spike Awards, and the NARP Academic Award.
We were also honored to have in attendance Federal Railroad Administrator Joseph Szabo, Congressman Howard Coble (R-NC), Congressman John Carney (D-DE), and Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D-CA).
