National Train Day 2012 is right around the corner—Saturday, May 12—and events large and small are being held all across the
country to commemorate the completion of the first transcontinental railroad
143 years ago and celebrate Americans' ongoing connections with railroads and
love of train travel.
Aside from a fun way to spend a day with your family or
friends, National Train Day is also an excellent opportunity to spread the word
about NARP and the work we do every day to bring about a robust, modern
passenger train network in the
