Letter with 163 House Signatures - February 3, 2003

House Republicans and Democrats each sent letters to House appropriators the week of February 3, urging funding for Amtrak in 2003 in the amount of $1.2 billion -- the amount Amtrak says it needs to avoid a shutdown crisis in the spring. This is the amount approved by the Senate, though both the House Appropriations Committee and the Bush Administration have come in far lower.
