NARP’s Executive Committee has approved a resolution in support of California’s High Speed Rail project and Proposition 1, which will be on the November ballot in California.

On June 11, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 6003, the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act, by a veto-proof margin of 311-104. NARP Executive Director Ross B. Capon issued a statement praising the House for passing this important legislation.

With oil over $130 a barrel, gas prices are exceeding $4 a gallon and the airline industry is slashing capacity.  NARP issued a news release urging immediate investment in improving existing rail service and funding growth and expansion.
