Texas-Oklahoma Passenger Rail Study - Scoping Open Houses

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold a series of 12 Open Houses to explain a study being undertaken on future options for passenger train development along a corridor extending from Oklahoma City through Fort Worth/Dallas to Austin, San Antonio and points south (Laredo, Brownsville, Corpus Christi).

Each Open House will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Central time, and all are welcome to attend, including children.

This is to present the findings of a feasibility study on restoring passenger train service on the Norfolk Southern line between Wilmington, DE, Salisbury and Berlin, MD and other points along the Delmarva Peninsula, potentially including Ocean City, MD. Come to the workshop to learn about the findings and what the next steps in the process will be.

NARP Northern Mid-Atlantic Regional Membership Meeting - for members in PA, NJ and DE

Co-hosted by Western Pennsylvanians for Passenger Rail (WPPR)

1:00 to 4:45 PM (doors open at 12:30 PM)

Zion Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall, 15 South 4th St., Harrisburg, PA (enter through the main doors)

Across the street from the Harrisburg Transportation Center (Amtrak and bus station). Meeting is timed for attendees to arrive on Amtrak Keystone train 663 and depart on train 672. Parking is available at the Chestnut Street Garage (Chestnut and 4th Streets), a very short distance from the church. Bring your garage ticket with you for validation. Those arriving from the west may take the Pennsylvanian, train 42 (arriving Harrisburg at 12:55 PM), and may either stay overnight and take train 43 back the next day, or a Greyhound bus to Pittsburgh departing Harrisburg at 7:25 PM. Note that while Megabus serves the Harrisburg to Pittsburgh route, its Harrisburg stop is at the Harrisburg Mall parking lot, a considerable distance from downtown.

Cost: $26.00 per person if registration is received by March 30, $31.00 per person if received between March 31 and April 5, $36.00 per person at the door.
