Philadelphia, PA - 30th Street Station: NARP table staffed by Vice Chair Jim Churchill, along with a table for the Delaware Valley Association of Railroad Passengers (DVARP).
Chicago, IL - Union Station: NARP table staffed by Council of Representatives member Gordon McCoy and other Chicago-area volunteers, along with a table for the Midwest High-Speed Rail Association. Los Angeles, CA - Union Station: NARP table staffed by Council members Ryan Stern, Matthew Melzer and Dennis Lytton, along with a table for the Rail Passenger Association of California and Nevada (RailPAC). Tampa, FL - Union Station: Equipment displays, operating model trains, live music, special guests and history and railroading exhibits sponsored by Friends of Tampa Union Station, which will also feature a rail advocacy information table hosted by Council member Jackson McQuigg and the Florida Coalition of Rail Passengers. Charleston, WV - Appalachian Power Park (baseball stadium): NARP and Friends of the Cardinal will be represented at the evening’s minor-league baseball game (first pitch at 7:00 PM) between the West Virginia Power and the Kannapolis (NC) Intimidators. Toledo, OH - Amtrak station - MAY 1: A rail advocacy table hosted by volunteer NARP and All Aboard Ohio members Bill and Beth Gill, along with model trains and many fun train-related activities. Norman, OK - Amtrak station: Event hosted by the Northern Flyer Alliance, which is working to extend Amtrak’s Heartland Flyer from Oklahoma City to Kansas City Longview, TX - Amtrak station: Festivities sponsored by the Texas Eagle Marketing and Performance Organization (TEMPO), among others. Washington state—All Aboard Washington (AAWA) volunteer Karen Keller put together a comprehensive event at the Amtrak station in Olympia-Lacey and the City of Centralia’s Carol Hamilton organized a well-attended celebration at her city’s 1912 Northern Pacific station, where AAWA Executive Director (and NARP member) Lloyd Flem staffed a rail advocacy table. AAWA also had tables in Bellingham, Edmonds, Everett, Leavenworth and Seattle. Vermont: NARP and the Vermont Rail Action Network presence at events in St. Albans, Essex Junction and other stations on the Vermonter route.
