» Which way do you want to travel in winter weather?

Being from the East Coast, I’m not much of a snow person.  So when a forecast of “flurries” on December 3 in Milwaukee turned to much more than that, I wasn’t terribly pleased.  But I saw an opportunity to document one of the best benefits of passenger rail: the fact that it is an all-weather mode of travel.

So, I asked the question: “When the winter storm hits, how do you want to travel?”

I-94 was a mess; what is normally a 10 minute trip from Mitchell Field to downtown Milwaukee takes nearly 30 minutes!

After just a 20 minute turn from #335, Hiawatha #338 heads back to Chicago with a heavy load of passengers.
