Talk back to Talk Show host!

Tuesday, February 27, 2007

For those inclined to call in to talk shows, here is an opportunity. Our member Jason Sanford of Orlando called last week to report that on February 21 Glenn Beck, a young, conservative talk show host, morphed a discussion of JetBlue into an attack on Amtrak, which he called “JetBlue with wings.” He reportedly said, “If Amtrak went out of business, no one would notice or care,” just like US Airways [he sees his home base Philadelphia as victim of quasi-US Airways monopoly].

He also said “Amtrak if restructured would make a profit…they should let it go out of business and start from scratch.”

Click here for the show’s web site.  Apparently Beck has been on Philadelphia radio for years, nationwide for a couple of years. Mr. Sanford believes Beck broadcasts from Center City Philadelphia, and commutes by train.
