What: Annual NARP/ESPA Joint Membership Meeting
When: Saturday, March 10, 2012 - 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM Eastern
Where: Backstage Pub and Grill, 501 Smith St., Schenectady, NY
Three blocks from the Schenectady Amtrak station. Meeting is timed for those from the west to arrive on train 280 and depart on train 283, and for those from the east (Albany, Hudson Valley, NYC) to arrive on train 69 and depart on train 68.

Free and open to all NARP and ESPA members, but advance registration is required. Email ESPA President Bruce Becker with your name and the number of people in your party who will attend.

What: Annual membership meeting for NARP members in DC, MD, VA and WV.
When: Saturday, March 17, 2012 - 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Eastern
Where: Starlight Room (behind Gates C and D), Washington Union Station, 40 Massachusetts Ave. NE, Washington, DC

Cost: $15.00 per person; covers snacks and beverages. Lunch is on your own; there are numerous eateries to choose from inside the station.

Guest speakers will include representatives of Amtrak, MARC, VRE, and local governments, as well as a NARP staff member and a representative of VARP.

What: Annual NARP membership meeting for the Northwest states
When: Saturday, March 17, 2012, time TBA
Where: The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, 1380 Wisconsin Ave, Whitefish, MT (Lodge operates a free shuttle to/from the Whitefish Amtrak station)

Cost: TBA

The meeting will be timed around the arrival of the eastbound Empire Builder and the departure of the westbound Builder, so a one day turn from Oregon and Washington is possible without an overnight stay. But stay and enjoy late winter in the resort area of Whitefish!

Who: NARP Representatives and members in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
What: Annual tri-state meeting to discuss the latest news and trends in the rail industry. Also a chance for the Delaware Valley and New Jersey ARPs to discuss their work in the past year.
When: Saturday, March 24, 2012 - 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern
Where: Temple University Center City Campus, Room 320. 1515 Market St., Philadelphia, PA.
Convenient to SEPTA Regional Rail’s Suburban Station, the Market-Frankford El’s 15th St. Station, and the Broad St. Subway’s City Hall Station. Transfer to Regional Rail at Amtrak’s 30th Street Station is free with a same-day Amtrak ticket receipt.

Event Details
When: Monday through Wednesday, April 23-25, 2012 (meeting sessions in Alexandria April 23 and 25, Day on the Hill in Washington April 24). Meeting ends at 2:00 PM Eastern April 25.
Where: Hilton Alexandria Old Town, 1767 King St., Alexandria, VA (adjacent to King Street Metrorail and Alexandria Amtrak/VRE stations)

All NARP members are encouraged to attend. Any member may participate in Day on the Hill free of charge, and may attend the Capitol Reception for a small fee.

What: Toldeo’s Celebration of National Train Day
When: Saturday, May 5, 2012 - 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern
Where: Toledo Amtrak Station at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza, 415 Emerald Ave., Toledo, OH

The festivities will include an opening ceremony, train equipment on display, model railroads, railroad art and activities, kid safety workshops, music and prize drawings. Amtrak’s 40th Anniversary exhibit train will also be on display.
